COUNSELLING:

COUNSELLING: ON LINE COMPUTER METHODOLOGY:

15.1 On-line counselling will be done at various counselling centres located at different cities in state of Uttar Pradesh. The candidate invited for counselling is to report at counselling centre allotted to him/her. The details of counselling will be provided to successful candidates with counselling letter. The information about counselling schedule, procedure and centres etc., will also be available on website: www.uptu.nic.in.

15.2 The successful candidates will be called for on-line counselling based on their State Rank (Combined General Rank), even if they belong to reserved category. However, the advantage of their reserved category rank (in case they submit proper category reservation certificate) shall be provided at the time of allotment of seats.

15.3 The allotment of the seat/Institution/branch will be made during the on-campus counselling based on the merit position of candidates in SEE–GBTU:2012 in their eligible category.

15.4 A counselling letter will also be sent by post to the successful candidates. Any delay on part of Post Office is not the responsibility of University or Central Admission Board. The candidate should logon above website frequently.

15.5 The candidates called for counselling will be required to come with original certificates of qualifying examination, marksheet, weightage certificate, domicile and category/reservation certificates etc. with one attested copy of each. In case the candidates do not submit the proper category/ reservation certificate in the prescribed proforma at the time of counselling, the advantage of reserved category shall not be provided and they will be treated in General Category. If the candidate has passed qualifying examination from outside of U.P., he/she has to bring the domicile certificate of his/her parents (Father OR Mother) only at the time of counseling. The candidate must note that his/her domicile certificate in place of his parent’s certificate, is not acceptable and no request shall be entertained for relaxation.

15.6 Verification of original documents would be done at the time of counselling at the counselling centre. The purpose would be to verify different records regarding, qualifying examination, state of eligibility, category/ reservation certificate and weightage etc. of the candidate. The candidates will not be considered for admission if he does not show the original documents at counselling centre.
However the originals will be returned to candidates on DAY-2 of counselling.

15.7 The initial fee of Rs. 5,000/- will be deposited at counselling centre in the form of Bank draft. This fee is adjustable against total fee payable at institution if candidate takes admission at allotted institute / university. In some cases, the initial fee may be refunded as per conditions laid down in clause-16.2. The initial fee of Rs. 5,000/- will be forfeited if the candidate does not take admission in allotted institution. Requests for return of this fee in such case will not be entertained.

15.8 In addition to initial fee the candidate called for counselling is to deposit a separate bank draft of
Rs. 500/- as counselling fee. This counselling fee is non-refundable. 15

15.9 After allotment of seat, the candidates are required to deposit a 'part of college/ institute fee' in form of Bank draft of Rs. 10,000=00 for General & OBC category candidates and Rs. 4,000=00 for SC & ST category candidates, at respective counselling centers within three days from the date of issue of allotment/ admission letter, failing which the allotted seat will automatically be cancelled.

This part of college/institute fee (Rs. 10,000 / Rs. 4,000) is adjustable against total fee payable at institution if candidate takes admission at allotted institute / university. This amount (Rs. 10,000 / Rs. 4,000) will be forfeited if the candidate does not take admission in allotted institution and requests for return of this fee in such case will not be entertained.

15.10 If a candidate wish to participate in counselling for more than one course, he/she has to deposite the counselling fee of Rs. 500/- (in form of Bank Draft) only, provided he/she has deposited the fee as per clause-15.9.

15.11 After first counselling, the special drive for re-counselling will be conducted for filling the vacant seats of reserve categories. The detailed procedure for re-counselling of special drive shall be displayed on the website at the time of counselling. During the special drive for re-counselling, fee will be collected through separate Bank Draft in the following manner:
(a) Rs. 5000/- as initial fee and Rs. 500/- as re-counselling fee from those who have not been allotted any seat in earlier counselling or not participated in earlier counselling or seat is cancelled in earlier counselling as per clause 15.9.
(b) Rs. 500/- only as re-counselling fee from those who would like to shift to other choice.

15.12 All the Bank drafts must be prepared separately and drawn in favour of ‘Finance Officer, U. P. Technical University, Lucknow’ payable at city branch of applicant’s counseling centre.
For example, a student appearing for counselling at Lucknow, the draft should be in favour of ‘Finance Officer, U. P. Technical University, Lucknow’ payable at Lucknow.

15.13 Counselling Procedures will be available on website: www.uptu.nic.in well in time before start of counselling. The candidates are advised to logon this website for procedures of on-line counselling.

15.14 Based on merit/rank in SEE-UPTU: 2012 the counselling will be conducted on-line through internet in two phases. In Phase-I, which will be off-campus-on-line, the candidates can exercise their choices at place of their convenience through internet to know about indicative choice allotment at frequent intervals. Phase-II will be on-campus-on-line, where eligible candidates will be required to report at prescribed counselling center for registration and final choice submission.

15.15 The counselling will start in first week of July 2012. For details of counselling schedule, visit the website frequently after declaration of result.

15.16 The latest instructions of AICTE, Govt. and UPTU upto the date(s) of counselling shall be applicable.

15.17 According to G.O. no. 2426/Solah-1-2009-13(128)/2009 dated 10-09-2009 the admission will be given on 60 percent seats in undergraduate courses to Physically Handicapped candidates in Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology for handicapped, Kanpur and rest 40 percent seats are reserved for General candidates. The reservation policy of U.P. Govt. will be applicable on both types of seats.

16. REFUND RULES VALID FOR FEES DEPOSITED AT COUNSELLING CENTRE

16.1 Counselling fee of Rs. 500/- will be non-refundable in all cases and no claim will be entertained for its refund at any stage.

16.2 Refund rules for initial fee of Rs. 5,000/- are as follows - Sr. Status During Counselling Refund rule.
1. Candidate withdraws before locking the choice. Rs. 5000/- is refundable.
2. Candidate is not allotted any seat as per the choices filled. Rs. 5000/- is refundable.
3. A seat is allotted as per option of the candidate, but the candidate does not take allotment letter / does not deposit ‘part of college fee’ as per clause-15.9 / does not join the allotted college / is not interested in taking admission for any reason whatsoever.
No refund is admissible.

16.3 No Refund of 'part of college/institute fee' (Rs. 10,000 / Rs. 4,000) deposited at counselling centre will be admissible, if the candidate does not take admission in allotted college/institution for any reason whatsoever, and no claim will be entertained for its refund. 16

17 PURCHASE AND SUBMISSION OF OMR APPLICATION FORMS

17.1 Information Brochure may be purchased from February 20, 2012 to March 12, 2012 (both days inclusive) from Head Post Offices and Mukhya Dak Ghar (MDGs) of Uttar Pradesh; New Delhi, Nainital and Dehradun also. However, the University will not be responsible if the forms are not available at any of such places mentioned above on certain date(s).

17.2 The candidates may also get application form by post from the Registrar, SEE-GBTU: 2012, U. P. Technical University, I.E.T. Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow-21, by sending a Crossed Bank Draft in favour of ‘Finance Officer, A/C SEE-GBTU: 2012’ payable at Lucknow alongwith two self addressed stickers so as to reach on or before March 05, 2012 at SEE-GBTU: 2012 office. The candidate should write his / her Name and Address on the back of the Bank Draft.

17.3 The Cost of Information Brochure and application form including examination fee will be as under:-
General/ OBC Category SC/ST Category and Female of all Category On Cash By Post On Cash By Post Rs. 1,000/- Rs. 1,050/- Rs. 500/- Rs. 550/-

17.3 The Application form and brochure will be sent to the candidates by Registered Post / Speed Post upto 05 March 2012 only.

17.5 Completed application form duly filled must reach to Registrar, (SEE-GBTU), U. P. Technical University, I.E.T. Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow-226021 upto March 15, 2012 (5.00 p.m.) by Speed Post / Registered Post only. The application forms received in University after the last date will not be accepted.

18 TUITION FEES ETC.

18.1 The fees in Govt. and Govt. aided colleges / institutes at present is Rs. 25,000/- per year for B.Tech./B.Arch. and Rs. 19,000=00 per year for MBA / MCA programmes, excluding Hostel fees which may be revised by the institute as per State Government orders.

18.2 The fees in Private Institutions / Govt. aided Institutions running self finance courses will be as per the latest notification / orders issued by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh/ Fee Fixation Committee.

19 INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP THE OMR APPLICATION FORM

(A) DO NOT
(i) cut, scribe, tear, fold, staple, pin, tag the OMR Application form.
(ii) use photocopy / reproduction / duplicate copy of OMR Application form.
(B) DO
(i) use only the OMR Application form purchased from any of the designated sale centres.
(ii) write in rectangular boxes (i) of all the items of OMR Application with Black Ball Pen and darken
the corresponding circles (O); with HB Pencil only.
(iii) erase completely to change the response.
(iv) read carefully the entire Information Brochure before filling the OMR Application Form.
(v) paste only Black / White photograph on OMR application form.

(C) CLARIFICATION FOR FILLING UP OMR APPLICATION FORM:

(1) Name of the Candidate: Write your FULL NAME (in English Capital Letters) as recorded in your High School or equivalent examination certificate. Write one letter in one rectangular box i and leave a box blank between any two parts of the name. Darken the corresponding circle (O) below each letter. Do not darken any circle below a blank box. Do not overshoot the boxes. Do not use prefix such as Shri / Mr. / Km. / Ms. etc. with your name. Abbreviate the middle name only if necessary to accommodate your name in the boxes provided. 17

(2) Father's Name: Write FULL NAME (in English Capital Letters) as recorded in your High School or equivalent examination certificate. Write one letter in one rectangular box i and leave a box blank between any two parts of the name. Darken the corresponding circle (O) below each letter. Do not darken any circle below a blank box. Do not overshoot the boxes. Do not use prefix such as Shri / Mr. / Dr./ Late etc. with the father's name.

(3) Date of Birth: Write your date of birth exactly as recorded in your High School or equivalent examination certificate. Use English numerals 01 to 31 for filling the date; first three letters of the month for filling the month; and English numerals to write in the two rectangular boxes for filling the year of birth. Then, darken the corresponding circles for date, month and year of birth.

(4) Nationality: Write code of your Nationality (1/2) in the rectangular box and darken the
corresponding circle (O).

(5) Gender: Write 1 or 2 depending upon your sex, Male (1) or Female (2), in the rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle below.

(6) Parent's Domicile: Write (1) inside the rectangular box if at least one of your parents
(Father/Mother) is domicile of U.P., (2) if none of your parents is domicile of U.P. and (3) if belongs to clause 8.5 of Information Brochure. Darken the corresponding circle below.

(7) Qualifying Examination / Year:

(a) Write 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 inside the rectangular box of 7(a) depending upon whether you have passed or are appearing in Intermediate (10+2)/Graduation/ Diploma in Engg./Diploma in Pharmacy/ Diploma in Agriculture Engg./Diploma in Architecture/B.Sc. respectively and darken the corresponding circle.

(b) Write 1/2 inside the box of 7(b) depending upon whether you have passed (1) or appearing (2) in qualifying examination and darken the corresponding circle.

(c) Write 1/2 inside the box depending upon whether you have passed or appearing in qualifying examination from a school/college located in the State of U.P. (1) or other than U.P. (2) and darken the corresponding circle.

(d) Write year of passing of qualifying examination in the rectangular box and darken the
corresponding circle.

(8) Subjects in (10+2): Write subject code number(s) in the rectangular box depending upon the subject group in which you have passed / are appearing in, Intermediate or (10+2) or equivalent examination. For example: for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Computer Sc. write 1,2,3 & 7 and for Physics, Chemistry & Biology write 1,2 & 4. For Agriculture group write 9, if the subjects in 10+2 is not from 1 to 9 write 10 in the rectangular boxes and darken the corresponding circle. For Diploma holder candidate, write 11 in the rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle.

(9) Choice of city for examination: Indicate two choices for city of examination from where you wish to appear in SEE-GBTU: 2012 by filling the city codes in the rectangular boxes. Darken the corresponding circles below. Refer to Appendix-D of the Information Brochure for city code.

(10) Category:

(a) Category: Write 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 in the rectangular box depending upon whether you are a candidate of UPGE (1), UPSC (2), UPST (3), UPBC (4), UPGD (5), GDSC (6), GDST(7), GDBC (8), GDDA (9). Darken the corresponding circle.
(b) (i) Sub-Category: Write 1/2/3/4/5 in the rectangular box depending upon whether you belonging to sub-category UPFF (1) / UPAF (2) / UPHC (3) / UPGL (4) or do not belong to any of these sub-categories (5) Darken the corresponding circle. Refer to Clause 9.2 of this Information Brochure.

(ii) If you belong to Sub-Category UPHC, Write 3 in rectangular box as per type of handicapness and darken the corresponding circle. The details of types of handicapness are given in clause- 11.3.

(c) Weightage Claimed: Write 1 or 2 in the rectangular box depending upon whether you want to claim rural Weightage (1) for YES or do not want to claim rural weightage (2) for NO. Darken the corresponding circle. Refer to clause 10 of this brochure for weightage eligibility.

(11) Contact Phone Number:

(a) Write STD code and your contact phone number in rectangular boxes and darken the
corresponding circle.

(b) Write your mobile number in rectangular boxes and darken the corresponding circle.18

(12) Group of courses and Papers in which you wish to appear in Entrance Examination:
(a) Depending upon the eligibility for admission in first year, write 1 in rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle. For Diploma holder (except Architecture) / B.Sc. Graduates, eligible for direct admission in second year, Write 2 in rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle.

(b) Depending upon your eligibility, select any one or more than one course as per your choice in which you want to seek admission in first year. Write code(s) in rectangular box & darken the corresponding circle(s) for the chosen courses.

(c) Depending upon your eligibility for lateral entry in second year, write 1 or 2 or 3 in rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle.

(d) Write code(s) in rectangular box and darken the corresponding circle(s) for the choices (see clause (4.4 & 3.1). Example: If you opt B.Tech. write codes 1 & 2 and darken the corresponding circles in 12(d). If you opt B. Tech. and B. Arch., darken codes 1,2 and 6 in 12(d).

(13) Declaration: Make the declaration by putting your signature at the prescribed place. Get it countersigned by your parent / Guardian. Also, write the date on which the declaration has been made.

(14) PIN Code of your Postal Address: Write the Pin code of your Postal Address in the rectangular boxes and darken the corresponding circle.

(15) Name and Mailing address: Write your name and complete mailing address with BLACK BALL PEN in CAPITAL LETTERS inside the box. Do write the Postal Pin Code also.

(16) Photograph: Paste your recent 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm Black & White photograph with gum inside the rectangular box. DO NOT GET IT ATTESTED. Colour photograph will not be accepted. The photograph which are not clear will be considered as the attempt of the act of impersonatin and application form is liable to be rejected.

(17) Put your signature with black ball pen in the box given.
